A concise history of Greece.

The core of Greek people though are concentrated in the modern states of Greece, which has been independent since 1821 and throughout Southern Cyprus, which has been independent sine 1960.
The earliest recorded inhabitants of the Island date back to the legendary King of Crete, King Minos. This gave the colloquial term for the inhabitants of the Islands as the Minoan civilisation, who where almighty across the Isles from roughly 3650 B.C. to 1450 B.C. Little specific information is known about the Minoans, but as far as historians can tell, they integrated with the Early Helladic period on the Greek mainland from roughly 2800 B.C. to around 2100 B.C.

Mycenaean Greece (Bronze Age)
to the Greek Dark ages, on to the historically famous ancient Greek times, on to
Hellenistic society, through the Roman occupation, the Byzantine era, the Fourth Crusade and onto the modern era of Greek history.
